So, after 35 long and wonderful years in the stairlift industry, David Dow our Sales Manager is hanging up his measuring tape and retiring from Caltech on 31st March.
David first started working in the stairlift trade for a company called Gimsons which was a UK based manufacturer.
He spent 20 years there before moving on to work for independent dealers in Scotland. We were fortunate to have David join us in 2013 where he spent two years increasing our sales across the country.
Well respected
David is very well respected throughout the industry by both colleagues and Occupational Therapists, his knowledge is second to none so we have also be very fortunate that he has been able to pass this on to Graeme who joined Caltech in September as a trainee stairlift surveyor. In David’s own words: “Graeme has got to be the fastest learner I have had the privilege of training over many years in the industry. He is extremely enthusiastic, likeable and with an excellent work ethic…. which are key characteristics in going far in this job!”
Graeme is now out and about surveying stairs in the Perth, Perthshire, Dundee, Angus, Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire areas. Please feel free to email him with any stairlift queries tel. Email [email protected]
We’re also excited to announce that Bill McKay formerly of Wessex Lifts will be taking over David’s role as Regional Sales Manager.
Bill brings to the table a huge amount of knowledge in the stairlift and disabled access industry.
Many people know the name Bill McKay in Scotland as the ‘Wessex guy’, but prior to Wessex Bill worked for Bison Bede for many years where he gained an invaluable amount of knowledge on stairlifts.
Bill and David will be working together during the month of March as they take a roundtrip across Scotland visiting our many local authority customers as part of our handover period. Please feel free to email or phone Bill with any stairlift or disabled access lift queries.
